Montage-a-Google

April 22nd, 2008 · No Comments · Articles, Richie's Blogs

I’m sure you’ve searched google for images before. Here is something pretty innovative:

Montage-a-google is a simple web-based app that uses Google’s image search to generate a large gridded montage of images based on keywords (search terms) entered by the user. Not only an interesting way of browsing the net, it can also be used to create desktop pictures or even posters

Here are some searches I did:
Stop Sign

UFC:

Black Light:

It’s pretty fun to mess around and see what you get. Sometimes if you get a good colour scheme going then it is worth using as desktop wallpaper or a poster. Enjoy!

Flip on its way.

April 20th, 2008 · No Comments · Articles, Richie's Blogs

I haven’t ordered much on the net lately, but yesterday I made a purchase that is gonna make this site a little more fun! It’s hard to make videos sometimes because it’s a pain to carry the camera around and it seems that the best stuff is always unexpected so I spent $150 and got a Flip Ultra.

It’s perfect for what we do. It’s a harddrive based camera that shoots a lil’ less that standard def. quality. It will be great for Youtube videos. The model I got can hold up to 60mins of footage. I like that it has the usb built in to make it easy to just upload the videos where ever I am.

If this is a good as I think it will be I will pressure the other guys to get one each and then we will be making videos like crazy! Man if I had this at Kanye I could’ve got so much footage because they were allowing cellphone pics and this is the same size as most phones! Damnit11!!!!!!111one!!!!

I’m off to Victoria our province’s capital for three days and will be back with a demo of the Flip hopefully by Thursday.

Standing in row six last night at the Glow in the Dark concert in Seattle we managed to sneak a couple video clips. Once Kanye came out the heat was on though and people had their cameras taken away and were getting kicked out! So you’re lucky we got these home safe.

Soccer ever been so sexy?

April 16th, 2008 · No Comments · Articles, Richie's Blogs

Beckham? Ronaldo? No sorry I’m talking about 22 pieces of metal.  “11″ is the new foosball table design by GRO design and by the TIM model makers.  It will be featured at Milan’s Design Week this month.

The thought behind the design was to reflect the many football stadiums built in recent years that are architecturally stunning, have become landmarks and represent the spirit and passion of the game. If the stadiums are becoming so spectacular, then why shouldn’t the foosball tables?

Much thought and care has gone into the craftsmanship and concept. The 22 players are finished in bright silver chrome that represents footballers’ status in sport and society. The lighting effects and the software controlling the game add further excitement to the atmosphere and to the experience of playing the game.

And now that we have whet your appetite and you have your credit cards ready, we must give you the bad news. For now, only one prototype model exists . However, it will not surprise us if they end up being manufactured very, very soon by the hundreds

Nintendo - Without having to press Reset 7 times

April 10th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Articles, Spi's Blogs

Lately there has been a resurgence of sort with Nintendo. Of course all that is old becomes new again and vintage always is cool, but in this case, we are talking about something that revolutionized the industry and changed lives.

Sure there was Colecovision, and even Atari, but neither could come close to Nintendo. With games like Contra, Paperboy, and one of my personal favorites, Bad Dudes (seen below).

Nintendo kick started what is now one of the biggest industries in the world. Growing up our generation was lucky enough to experience the growing pains of Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis and so on so that the generation of today can play Xbox 360 and PS3. Ask a 10 year old what Ninja Gaiden or Double Dragon is and they will have no clue, but they will be able to name you  every weapon in every level of Halo 3.

I am not sour, as I also play these games. Honestly when my Xbox blew up a few weeks ago it was hard to wait for the new one to come in. I just think the current generation really needs to understand how things have grown to truly appreciate what they have now. Enough of sounding like an old man and onto the point.

http://www.virtualnes.com/index.html

This site has every game ever made for regular Nintendo. Made in the U.S.A, Japan, or wherever it is on this site. You play the games right off the site so there is no downloading required whatsoever. You simply choose the game you want to play by navigating them alphabetically, and there it is.

No Reset. No Blowing til your face turns red. No pressing up and down really fast. No Blue Screen. Just Nintendo.

You can thank me later.
